About Laurendale Associates

Laurendale Associates was formed in 1989 with the avowed purpose of publishing and distributing all types of music from many composers, with a full range of compositional styles to a wide audience. In addition to releases in standard off-set sheet music printing formats, we are meeting the challenge of 21st century music publishing by the formation of entities such as:

  • Duplication Master Format (LDM), to handle all aspects of published music selections that are released in a Duplication Master format.
  • Laurendale Books, for both technical and non-technical books;
  • Laurendale Interactive Software for sequencer MIDI files, computer software, and video and computer related products;
  • Laurendale Music Products for all music related products such as the Black Folder, CD's and cassette tapes.

If you have any questions regarding our products or services, fell free to contact us by e-mail at [email protected] or directly using the phone numbers and address information at the bottom of this page.

We appreciate your patronage and thank you for visiting Laurendale Associates on the web.

About the Laurendale Website

The Laurendale Website is designed to make your online shopping experience both easy and secure. Our site has been optimized to work with the widest possible range of browsers, across a wide variety of platforms and should load quickly at all common internet connection speeds. However, since it is impossible to design any site to allow for all possible variations in user systems, it is possible that users with non-standard systems or older browsers may experience some difficulties with some aspects of the site.

The following are our recommendations for best browsing the Laurendale site. If you are experiencing problems, please check this list first to make sure your system meets the minimum requirements.

Browsers

While our site should work well with any modern HTML browser we highly recommend using version 4.0 or later of either Netscape Communicator or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. As of this writing the latest versions of both are available online for free by clicking the links provided here.

Download latest Microsoft Internet Explorer   Download latest Netscape Navigator

In particular, if you are using Internet Explorer version 3.x or earlier you may have difficulties viewing the links on the menu to the left. This is due to a lack of support in earlier browsers for setting the color of links individually rather than globally (one color for the entire page). Since the Laurendale site, like many sites on the world wide web, uses contrasting colors for the left menu and main body of the page, the links on them must display in contrasting colors in order to be clearly visible. If you are experiencing this problem we highly recommend you upgrade your browser to a more recent version, not only for the best viewing of our site, but for better viewing of all sites on the world wide web.

Java, JScript and VBScript Support

If your browser does not support Java, JavaScript or VBScript, or if you have chosen to turn off these features in your browser, then some of the more advanced features of the site (such as on-the-fly calculations in our shopping cart) will not be available to you. These will not, however, prevent you from making full use of our web site, including making purchases with our online shopping cart. All things will still work, they will just work differently.

Real Audio Player G2

The Laurendale site uses the current, state-of-the-art standard in real time, streaming audio, Real Audio G2 for presenting audio sample-clips of our titles at the highest possible fidelity with the shortest delay in download time.

If you have not updated to the most recent version of this product we highly recommend you do so. It is available online, for free, from Real Audio and can be obtained by clicking on the Real Audio link button.

While our files will play on older versions of the Real Audio player (version 5.0 or later) we do strongly recommend getting the latest version in order to hear the best possible sound from our selections at the highest possible fidelity.

Monitor Resolution and Color Depth

This site has been optimized for its best viewing on a system with a color monitor capable of displaying 16-bit "true color" or better and with a resolution at (or near) 800x600. It also works well on monitors set to 640x480 or 1024x768. We have tested at higher resolutions up to 1600x1200, including 1152x864 and 1280x1024, and have found no problems, although the images do get somewhat small at such high resolutions and we do not, therefore, recommend them for "best viewing."

It should be noted that the Laurendale site uses "true color" graphic images and will not appear correctly on monitors set to a color depth of 256-colors or less.

If the colors on our site appear blotchy or distorted and you are using AOL, then please read "Special Concerns for AOL Users" below. If you are not on AOL and have this problem see if you can reset your display to at least "true color" (16-bit) or higher color.

Special Concerns for AOL Users

By default AOL's browser (a version of Internet Explorer) comes set to "Use Compressed Graphics." What this actually MEANS is that instead of showing you the full range of colors on the site you are viewing AOL reduces the color depth. In theory this speeds loading of the page but in practice we have found the difference to be negligible with other factors (current activity on the web, your connection to AOL, etc) having a far greater impact. Since the effect of this is devastating to the look of almost any web page we highly recommend turning this "feature" off!

Click here for detailed instructions on how to TURN OFF COMPRESSED GRAPHICS IN AOL.

Still Having Problems...?

Finally, if you are experiencing any problems using this site which you do not feel can be explained by the items above, please contact the webmaster using the link at the bottom of this page. When you do please describe the nature of the problem and what type of computer system you are using. Also, as best you can, tell us your browser type, version number, operating system and monitor settings, if you know them. These will help us to more quickly narrow down and correct any problems.

Once again we'd like to thank you for visiting the Laurendale website. Please add us to your book marks and make returning to our site a regular part of your online experience.
