This is one a series of spatial pieces Gregg wrote based on the original psalms found in the Bay Psalter of 1698. This psalter was the first music published in the U.S., although the tunes came from European sources. The quality that makes this piece effective is the placing of voices in an evenly spread circle throughout the hall. If there is a balcony, it is very possible to keep some voices below and some above.
