Suitable for those concerts that have a small brass choir as accompaniment for choral or vocal solo works, or for a Brass Choir Concert. "AFAM Fanfare" was written to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Adirondak Festival of American Music held in Saranac Lake, New York, each summer during the month of July. This composition was meant to be a quick rehearsal/performance type of piece, requiring little, if any, rehearsal. Being less than three minutes in length, it offers a quick introduction of a brass quintet when it is an integral part of the program.
